GUIDE
Save and share your world
Keep a backup of your build, move it to another browser, or share a copy using a JustBuild world code.
Where your build is saved
JustBuild keeps world data in your browser's local storage. Autosave records changes; Escape opens the pause menu, where Save world lets you save explicitly. Continue last world opens a recently saved world from the start screen.
This is not cloud storage. Another browser, device, hostname or HTTP/HTTPS address has its own storage. Private browsing, storage restrictions or clearing site data can remove or prevent saves. Keep an exported backup of anything you want to retain.
Copy a backup
- Open the world you want to keep.
- Press Escape and choose Save world. Check that saving succeeded.
- Choose Copy world code and allow clipboard access if your browser asks.
- Paste the code into a text file and save it somewhere outside browser site data.
A code is a snapshot of the saved world when it was copied. Later edits are not added to that copy. Export a new code after making changes. A world name and other saved state can be inside the code: share only builds you intend to make available.
Load a world code
- Copy the complete code, without changing its characters.
- Open JustBuild in the receiving browser. Create a temporary world to reach the pause menu.
- Press Escape and choose Load world code. If clipboard reading is blocked, use the paste prompt.
- After the import confirmation, exit to the start screen and choose Continue last world.
An imported world with the same seed uses that seed's save slot. Back up an existing world with that seed before importing a different copy. Invalid codes are refused; if import reports a storage problem, keep the backup and free space without deleting a build you still need.
A seed is not a world code
A seed repeats the starting landscape for the same preset and generator version. It does not contain your house, edits or saved progress. A world code contains the saved changes. Sharing either does not let you build together live.
Moving from another site address
Use the same browser and device you used before. Type the original site address followed by/legacy-play directly into the address bar. This opens the localMove your saved world page even if the old homepage forwards to the new site. Continue the world, pause, expand that notice and choose Show world code. Copy the selected text manually if clipboard access is unavailable.
Keep that tab and a backup until the import works at JustBuild.World. Nothing automatically transfers between origins, and the export page does not upload or delete your saves.
If your save is missing
Check the original browser profile, device and address first. A saved world cannot be reconstructed after its browser data is removed unless you have a world code. For help, email contact@justbuild.world; do not send a private world code unless you want to share its contents.
